I am now at the middle of my mental state. Nothing bad happened yesterday. As I have mentioned before, some people are in a good mood, and will actually smile, or even say hi. Some, seemingly out of respect, turn and don’t look. Finaly there are those so busy they offer neither of the other options. That is a tremendously wonderful start. As long as I am somewhere in between, or precisely “on” when it comes to offering a joyfully gleeful presentation of my honest and truthful sense of satisfaction, pleasant reflection, and overwhelming gayety and merriment. (It helps if you’re actually retired like I am). Although being out and about as well, allows for the actuality of reality, to come forward into the stark awareness of the gleaming and sharpened sense of life. Last week I was at the local food store. I was putting some bigger things in the trunk. Just as I was coming around to the driver’s side, I heard a noise, and then another, and then again! As far as I could surmise a car from the middle lane sped up to pass on the left. That lane was strictly for buses, bicycles, and parking, back in the “day”. So dude sees traffic is backing up a bit. He punches it while hitting the turn signal. The gal leaving the parking lot tried to time her entry into that far right lane just perfectly! The horn, the screaching, the slamming, the crash, all overpowered me. I became weak and dis-functional! I could barely make it to my car door. Was it a form of sympathy trauma that I experienced? Just the day before I had noticed some well swept debris down the street over here. God please me! I think that insurance people consider that you now, live in an accident-prone area of town. That is why mine went up $50.00 right after the old man was distracted by a young lady sitting at green while chatting to her “bestie”! Then the soon to be father rams me from behind while talking to his wife on the phone. The officer from the other accident just totally lost it. He ordered us into the corner food store parking lot, and then sped away as fast as he could. You know, maybe he was on a call to begin with!
