I Am Now Alone

I am creating a B-Day card for the nephew’s boy. He plays violin, and keyboards. The good example of such an ability goes back to the early ’70s. Two roadies wheeled out the largest, whitest, grandest, piano. I am quite certain that the large behemoth had been constructed by the Hugh Jass Co. The particular song that he started with was “Locomotive Breath”. Mr. Tull himself plays flute. Just like Peter Gabriel did for the English Group “Genisis”, before going solo. The particular song in question involves a strong, heavy bass beat, with the slamming chords being struck by Mr. Jobson(?). Is there actually such a thing as Folk-Metal. You may be able to answer that question after hearing any one particular song by that older band. The “newer” group U.K., is from around ’79-’80. That singing bassist had replaced Greg Lake (who had formed Emerson, Lake, & Plamer), in the group “King Crimson”. He, after U.K. had formed Asia, with “Sole Survivor”, & “Heat Of The Moment”, as their 2 hits. That would have been by 1981, or so. In any case my home-made card will read on the front “Were you fishing for compliments at all”? On the inside it will read “It helps if your handsome, and young looking like I am”. Yesterday worked out well in all regards. Mother will visit her 100 yr. old sister for a-while. (or is it like Meg pronounces it?) I can now search for little cleaning projects that won’t involve a family meeting.

From the book; It’s a flagpole’s journey, and up I arise, for 12 short hours, I’m up in the skies, everlasting beauty, or merely ancient coal, I kiss those skies in a sweet lover’s parade, never chancing mercy, as time will take it’s toll, diamonds purely made of those elements of old, the staggering faults of stags and rams so bold, that no longer climb the fills, or chase sunsets made of gold.
