The Suess is dead. Back in the day Mother ordered a book of the month from Mr. Suess. That was for my sister. It was when “little bro” received an Old Fashioned American version of English Nursery Rhymes that my overwhelming ability to write actually started. I was bored one summer and pulled that out. I did once more for the same reason. What permanently altered my musical instrument playing ability was watching too many old musicals from the “40s, and ’50s. When I would play a few notes for the guys from the band that I actually tried to start, way back when, they would laugh. “Am I playing upside down?” was my first thought. One of my younger nephews showed me a bit about playing up the neck, rather than down. With the youngest nephew’s boy playing violin, and keyboard, I thought that perhaps we older gents could offer a bit of inspiration. As I write, those younger fellows, in addition to Floyd’s first release, they have the Zappa C.D. with 50/50, and Montana, being the G-rated, numbers that I pointed out for the lads. The exer-ate songs are like, Dinah-Moe Humm, etc.! So Frank was a good Catholic boy from New York, when one of us met him down in Chicago, back in ’64, or so. He practiced from time to time, in my buddy Joe’s garage. The Dodge was a car that Joe’s dad had set my father up with. After a “Big-Will, and I had taken it for a joy ride back in the day, it was parked in the corner of Joe’s, a bit before we even had a special car place, “with a jack”!
Then truth opens the door to logic, yet as it’s now sitting just ajar, The fellow from New York, was such good young Catholic, we knew with his altruistic approach that he would truly make it far, so even back when records where made of plastic, we knew he’d be a star!
